We believe everyone deserves to dip their toes into the world of open water swimming. That’s why we offer three types of open water swimming sessions suitable for beginners, social dippers, and experienced swimmers and athletes.

Want to try open water swimming for the first time? Interested in dipping in the sea but not sure what to expect or how to stay safe? Then you need to Swim Safe!
Perfect for new, novice or nervous dippers, Swim Safe is our introductory open water swimming session. In the Swim Safe sessions, we’ll set your nerves at ease and help you overcome any fear or anxiety in the sea. You’ll gain all the sea swimming tips and advice you need to confidently and safely dip in the water.
Our Swim Skill sessions are perfect for dippers, novice or improver swimmers looking to take their open water swimming journey to the next level.
In these Skill specific sessions we’ll teach you key open water skills in a safe, supervised and supportive environment. We’ll help you hone your confidence as you learn to improve your swimming style and start to venture beyond dipping.
Experienced swimmers, athletes and swimmers who have set themselves a goal will all benefit most from a Swim Strong session.
Whether you’re training for a triathlon or event, have set yourself a swimming goal or you want to improve your technique, Swim Strong has everything you need to achieve your goals. In these sessions, our experienced open water swimming coaches will offer personalised advice and guidance as we help you achieve your water-based goals.

Our “Swim Safe” sessions are perfect for new, novice, or nervous swimmers who are just getting started. You’ll get all the swimming support, encouragement, and tips you need to confidently (and safely) embark on your open water swimming journey.

You’ve dipped in the sea, been for some social swims, or perhaps you’re confident in the pool but still finding your feet in the open water — if you’re an “improver”, you’ll enjoy our “Swim Skill” sessions.
These open water swimming sessions will get you making waves as you transition from dipper to swimmer. We’ll help you level up your swimming style, confidence and open water skills so you can fully immerse yourself in open water swimming.

If you know your way around the water and feel at home swimming among the fishies, you’re what we’d call an advanced swimmer.
We love supporting advanced swimmers in pursuit of their swim-based goals. Whether it’s helping you train for a triathlon, improve your frontcrawl, or achieve another swimming goal, you’ll benefit most from our “Swim Strong” sessions.
We can also work with you 121 to develop event or goal-focused training plans.

Open water swimming, whether that’s sea swimming, dipping in the estuary or trying out a spot of lake swimming, is an exhilarating experience. It’s a great opportunity to let your hair down (or keep it dry under a swimming cap), laugh til your cheeks ache, and make memories with amazing friends.
The mental health benefits of open water swimming are unmissable. Being by, or in, the water is one of my favourite ways to calm my mind and soothe my soul. And I’m sure the rest of the GONE FOR A SWIM tribe will wholeheartedly agree!
